I always think about giving my fellow teachers gifts at the beginning of the school year…
I get so inspired scanning Pinterest, pin so many cute ideas and then… nothing.
It could be the summer laziness but part of it is that I don’t want to put time and effort into something that will probably be thrown away, hidden behind a ton of papers on an overstuffed bulletin board, or lost on a desk full of papers to grade.
Even so, I really, really wanted to create something awesome this year! Introducing the potted cactus. Little cactuses are super trendy right now, can be kept in the classroom or at home, and you can write so many amazing notes of encouragement for the coming year using fun cactus puns.
You can buy these babies ready-made, or DIY. All I did for this project was pick up some cute cement pots (you could even paint your own), potting soil, cactuses (the one in the middle sprouted like crazy as soon as I brought it home), and pebbles for the top.
Here are some ideas for puns you can play with to personalize your note for any teacher:
I can’t wait to see what my team thinks of them!
